Rachel welcomes you to her 1980's brick extension on back of semi-derelict malvern stone cottage.

Modifications:
Extension: solar PV; ASHP; Low-E windows with locally sourced hardwood frames; internal insulation. Cottage: building work just started on eco-retrofit and extension

Motivation to make changes:
Warmer; Lower carbon emissions. NB section above only allows me to select one option - I tried to select Renewables: Heat and Glazing as wel

Approximate costs:
30k

Approximate energy savings:
Hard to estimate due to other changes that occurred at same time.

Benefits:
Warmer; more comfortable to live in.

Next steps:
Grey water re-use - not done yet due to cost/time/complicated.
Considered underfloor heating but could not face the disruption of having the floor ripped up, but would probably have meant that heating was more effective.
