Geoff and Julie welcome you to their mid-terrace Ross-on-Wye home built 1910/11 with mainly solid external walls.

Modifications:
Extensive insulation to external walls and underfloor; solar panels with hot water tank; underfloor heating; replacement doors.

Motivation to retrofit:
Downsized when we inherited the house and wanted to improve energy efficiency throughout.

Approximate costs:
Part of an extensive renovation so retrofit costs not clear.

Approximate energy savings:
We're just at the end of our first year - difficult to quantify but mostly pleased.

Benefits:
Warmer rooms and lower energy costs.

Who did the work?:
I am happy to recommend Tom Walton https://www.tjwalton.co.uk/  as our builder and also technical support and products from Ty Mawr https://www.lime.org.uk/

Future plans:
Consider a heat pump when the boiler need replacing. It was relatively new at the time of renovation.
