Phil welcomes you to his cavity wall home built in 1993.

Modifications:
Added solar, battery a heat pump and an EV charger.

Motivation to retrofit:
  • Solar for the feed in tariff
  • A battery for better electricity management
  • Heat pump for cheaper long term heating
  • EV charger because I have an EV
  • A time of use tariff to take advantage of all these features
Approximate cost:
  • Solar £16,000
  • Battery £6,000
  • Heatpump £13,000
  • EV charger £1,200
Approximate savings:
My total energy costs including charging my EV are approximately £750 per year.
I get paid £2,400 per year for my solar feed in tariff and £300 per year from the RHI for the heat pump.

Benefits:
Largely financial benefits over the long term.

Who did the work:
Heat Pump installed by Forest ECO who i'd recommend.

Next steps and considerations:
> Possibly increase battery capacity at some point.
