Please note: This is a three storey house but the majority of points of interest are on the ground floor. There is a downstairs toilet. There is parking for several additional cars to the front of the property.

Chris and Kate welcome you to their new build home. The house is five years old and was built with good insulation, double glazing and air source heating.
Modifications:
We have added solar panels on the roof, battery storage, solar boost to the heating system, a Zappi EV point to charge our EV and 500litres of rainwater capture for gardening purposes.
Motivation to retrofit:
We moved here two years ago from a 17C stone cottage in Wales. We chose this house because it had many 'green' features and we could see the potential to add more.

Caplor installed the solar set up. Yes, we would recommend them.

Approximate energy savings:
We have not calculated the potential savings as we made the changes as our contribution to reducing the impact of excessive energy use. We rejoice when the sun shines and we get our car charged for 'free'.
Benefits:
A certain smugness when I look at our solar app (MySolarEdge) and see that we have had another day without importing any energy.
Next steps:
We have a Peugeot 208E which is pure electric and a Toyota Corolla self-charging hybrid. We hope that when the time comes to replace the Toyota we will have more faith in the national EV charging point system and can get a second EV.
