Annabelle and James took the plunge to build their own 2/3 bed eco home having reached retirement. Their dream was for a comfortable, adaptable house with low running costs to take them through old age.

Having heard about passive house principles at the NSBRC they decided that was the only route for them and were lucky enough to find a local builder who specialised in this type of build.

Once settled into their new home they set about renovating the adjacent old stone barn to Enerphit standards to host family visitors and provide some extra hobby room space.

Their talk will contrast the two types of eco-build and share their experience with the technology and running costs. There will be plenty of time for you to ask any questions you have at the end.
