WE NEED YOUR GREEN HOME!!

Do you already live in a green home that you'd like to open for Herefordshire Green Open Homes? 

Over a couple of weekends, owners of green homes open their doors to visitors to show them around and answer questions – about their heat pump, solar panels, or new green build extension and the people they used to do the work. All sorts of homes are on show, from heritage restorations to new Passivhouses.

WHY?

Every year the need for energy efficiency improvements to homes gets greater, with energy bills and energy security causing more and more concern, and climate change breathing down our necks.

Looking around a home which has already been retrofitted, and talking to householders who have been on that journey, is absolutely invaluable in giving others the confidence and understanding they need to start their retrofit project. That’s Green Open Homes in a nutshell.

WHAT?

There aren’t any qualifying criteria really for what makes a Green Home. The greener the better of course! But any home where energy efficiency improvements have been carried out (such as solid wall insulation, or solar PV with battery, or an air source heat pump) is very welcome.

WHEN? 

Green Doors will be taking place on two October weekends 19/20th and 26/27th.  You don’t have to do all 4 days! And if you’d rather just do the morning, or close for lunch etc. let us know on the form
